Inspiration Around the World: Asia

You may notice a theme this week and in the next issue of Scrapbook News and Review magazine. There is a definite Asian influence. Today is Inspiration on Tuesday at the SNR blog and we featured a lucky red envelope. It inspired me to pull out some older photos. A few years ago, my son and I attended a Chinese New Year's festival. We witnessed a Lion Dance, complete with fireworks and costumes. Even though my son was small, he has vivid memories of the event.

The flowers on this layout are hand painted. It sounds complex, but I assure you, it's really easy to do. In fact, I will be sharing a tutorial tomorrow for the Workshop Wednesday post. It breaks down the flowers in a few simple steps that anyone can do.

You don't have to go to Asia to be inspired by their art and culture. The fabulous color palettes, rich textures, and ornate patterns are perfect for many papercraft projects. If you would like some more Asian Inspiration be sure to check out my latest board on Pinterest.

  1. Gorgeous page Christy! Love how you pulled the colors for your layout, out of the photos. And those painted flowers are absolutely fabulous!
