Tales of a Craft Class Junkie: Clustered

The scrapbook Coach classes have done two things for me. One, they have shown me the compositions I regularly use with ease. Two, they give me a direction to work in when I want to change my routine just a bit. The most current class, Clustered, is one that takes me away from my usual routine.

Group Nap by Christy Strickler |Supplies Patterned Paper: Fancy Pants, Studio Calico;Letters: Pink Paislee; Tag, Charm,Stamp: Studio Calico; Ink: Ranger; Twine: Jillibean Soup; Doily, Flair, Bow: Freckled Fawn; Sticker: Hello Forever

I worked through part one with ease. The directions given were easy to use and to adapt to my choice of supplies. I love how the Scrapbook Coach classes give you such clear direction while at the same time allow for creative license with your product choices.

I chose patterned paper with clocks to represent nap time. The wood and floral patterned paper add a cozy feel, as does the doily. I chose to layer my smaller clusters in two parts. First I stamped some small circles. Then I came back and added sprinklings of white glass beads. My tag is a little larger that the one in the sample layout. However, I felt that it sort of blended into the background and that made the size issue negligible.

I enjoyed working through part one of the class. Now I have just three parts to go! Are you working through the Scrapbook Coach series? If so, don't forget to share your work with us in the Get It Scrapped Gallery.

  1. Great layout, Christy! I love when a class helps you understand your process, strengths, ways to improve and why you like the things you do! Sounds like you're getting just that from this class!
