Snuggle Kitty by Christy Strickler |Supplies Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Fancy Pants, Basic Grey; Letters: American Crafts; Stamps: Studio Calico, Basic Grey; Tape,Brad: Basic Grey; Ink Ranger< Tsukineko; Die Cuts: Basic Grey, My Mind's Eye; Sticker: My Mind's Eye; Jewels: Doodlebug ; based on the July inspiration piece from Scraphappy.org
My counterfeit kit didn't have any 12x12 papers in it. I chose a piece of kraft and a 12x12 sheet of patterned paper to be my canvas. I cut the kraft paper down to 81/2 x 11 in size. It's not a size I regularly work with and was the perfect way to step farther out of my comfort zone. I chose a piece of patterned paper with triangles in the print. I pulled out my stamps and created a design on two sections of the patterned paper. My inspiration is based on a layout featured at Scraphappy.org.
My kit is full of bright colors. Using the pale pink patterned paper as my canvas along with the kraft cardstock toned the colors down just a bit. The pink visually supports the idea that this cat is full of a lot of love.
While I love my kit, it's been a challenge to get things going. The bright colors and patterns lend to a very graphic design. I am off to search for more pictures that will work well with this kit. I am not sure if I will kill the kit, but I am at least hoping to make a dent in it.

Love it Christy-- the pp w/ the triangles is very subtle yet complements the BG paisley-style stamp and the traingles you added Great job- I love the kitty puic- your little one is sweet- looks so proud of the "baby!" he's holding! W
ReplyDeletee have 3 cats-- one lives at the barn where our horse lives... she is a gem too. 2 are right here with us. Such sweet animals, One of them has been sleeping beside me at night of late, LOL! Keep up the good work-- loving your posts!
Super cute layout and I really like what you did with the triangles. Making a dent in the kit is good that is what I normally do each month, I have yet to kill a kit even though I give a good go :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a great layout, love the stamping on it.

I love this - the 12x12 makes a brilliant frame for the smaller sheet of Kraft and I love the doodling and stamping - stunning page :-)
ReplyDeleteI like the subtlety of your stamped triangles, and the tie-in with the small triangle paper. Well done, Christy. Glad to you see joining in the fun at CKC.
