Get It Scrapped- Pillow Fights and Collage

Every night, my son says good night to my husband. When my son was small, this often involved a pillow fight or other shenanigans that riled my son up a bit, making it hard for me to settle him down to sleep. That's oh though. I wouldn't trade away the moments between my husband and son. I love seeing them goof off together.

Pillow Fight by Christy Strickler |Supplies Cardstock: Colorbok; Patterned Paper: Studio Calico, Carta Bella; Letters: American Crafts; Flair, Chipboard: Amy Tangerine; Buttons: Freckled Fawn, Jenni Bowlin; Enamel Dots: Freckled Fawn; Pen: Bic Mark-its

Using a collage as the canvas was the perfect idea for this story. Collages, by nature, tend to be busy and full of activity. I began my layout with a piece of collaged paper, then built upward. I nested the photo within brighter colors in the hopes of drawing more focus toward it. I used vellum triangles to create a visual triangle.  I created several abstract feathers using simple shapes. I often think of feathers flying everywhere during pillow fights with feather filled pillows.
