WOW...time is certainly flying past this month. I haven't been blogging as much as I have intended, but I have been working on layouts for LOAD514 and a Page a Day in May. Time to start sharing what I have been creating! And what better way than with inspiration from the Mid- Month release at JBS Mercantile.
Earlier this week, I shared this layout on the JBS Mercantile Blog along with some tips for getting messy with sequins. Who doesn't like to sprinkle on a mess with some sequins?!?!
We celebrated my Husband's birthday this week. It was a simple celebration but lovely. My son and I baked a cake for his dad which we surprised him with when he came home from work. I wanted to document it while the fun was fresh in my mind. The Historian kit was the perfect way for me to do so, especially since not all of the baking process photos came out.
Currently, I find myself wanting to work on Project Life spreads. I am keeping up just fine making a page or PL spread every day this month. I hope I can make it to all 31 pages. How about you? Are you making a page a day in may?

Get It Scrapped: Gold and Black
When I see black and gold together I think of two things. First, I think of my middle school colors. Second, I think of formal occasions. Since I don't have any photos of me in my middle school colors, I opted to try out the color combo with a photo of me in high school.
Poised by Christy Strickler |Supplies Cardstock: Colorbok; Journal Cards: My Mind’s Eye; Vellum: We R Memory Keepers; Sequins: Jenni Bowlin Studios; Tape: Freckled Fawn; Font: Silhouette SW Partay Thyme, created for Get It Scrapped
One of my high school friends had talked me into trying out for a modeling contest. Nothing ever came of it except for a few posed photo of me. My son and husband get a kick out of looking at them, so into the scrapbook they go.
Black and Gold can be heavy colors. So I lightened things up a bit with vellum and washi tape with gold dots.

Welcome May!
Once again another month has flown past me. I wasn't nearly as crafty last month as I had hoped to be. Sometimes, even with a good creative habit, one finds themself less than inspired to work. A break was in order but I am happy to say that my creative energy has returned, just in the nick of time. This month will prove to be busy. I am participating in both Layout a Day 514 and Page a Day in May with Get It Scrapped. Luckily, I can make one page a day and count it for both. International Scrapbook day is just a few days away. I am hoping to craft all day long at a crop with some friends.
There should be a lot of pages to share this month. Let's start things off with a bright a cheery layout made with my May JBS Mercantile kits.
I have a process video to go along with this one. You can expect to see it on my website sometime tonight or tomorrow morning.
I just love this layout of my son and Moon Bear. She was a cat we fostered in our home for several months. I wish we could have kept here, but we did manage to find her a wonderful forever home.
Now I need to run off and work on my layout for the day. You can expect a lot to be shared this month. Especially with these wonderful May Kits to use up.Who is ready for iNSD?
